Marshall Terrill is a music, film, and sports writer, documentarian and the author of more 30 than books, including biographies of Steve McQueen, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Billy Graham and basketball legend “Pistol” Pete Maravich. He has also written books with Ruth Pointer of the Pointer Sisters, actor Edd “Kookie” Byrnes, musician Laurence Juber (Paul McCartney and Wings) and boxers Ken Norton and Earnie Shavers.

Terrill is considered America’s foremost historian-author on Steve McQueen, one of Hollywood’s most famous movie stars. Terrill’s book, Steve McQueen: The Life and Legend of an American Icon has been optioned as a feature film.

In 2017, Terrill executive produced a documentary entitled “Steve McQueen: American Icon.” The documentary grossed $1.7 million at movie theaters across the nation and is available on DVD and all streaming platforms. He also executive produced “Johnny Cash: The Redemption of an American Icon,” a 2022 feature film that Billboard noted Cash’s “emotional and spiritual dichotomy is at the center of a new documentary.”

Terrill is currently working on several literary, film and documentary projects, including a full-length biography of celebrity hairstylist/Manson Family victim Jay Sebring, a photo/history book of Real 2 Reel Studios in Georgia, and a documentary on serial killer Charles Schmid.
